Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join our small team in Warwick. This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting. The successful candidate will participate in problem-solving, contribute to innovative solutions and assist the management team with training and customer support in the product handover process which will involve international travel for brief trips.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of car racking systems used in shipping containers.
- Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
- Conduct mechanical and structural analysis, including load assessments, material stress checks, and safety factor evaluations.
- Draft budgets, timescales and specifications with clients and managers.
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to support prototyping, production, testing and quality control.
- Contribute to technical documentation, including specifications, assembly manuals, and installation guides.
- Participate in R&D projects aimed at improving system efficiency, weight optimization, and container utilization.
- Help ensure compliance with international shipping standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
- Attend client or supplier meetings (as needed) and support on-site trials or installations.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree.
- Proficiency in English as a first or second language.
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and basic structural analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a small team and follow design standards.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and adapt to a fast-paced and practical engineering environment.
Desirable Skills (Optional):
- Proficiency in an additional language(s)
- Understanding of welding practices, sheet metal design, or modular manufacturing techniques.
- Passion for cars.
